Practical
habitat
solutions for
native wildlife

Many of Australia’s native animals depend on tree hollows for shelter, nesting, and protection. However, natural hollows can take over a century to form, and they are currently disappearing from many landscapes faster than they can be replaced.

NativeHabitat.Co utilises advanced Australian designed hollow creation technology together with GPS habitat mapping to deliver precise, data-driven solutions and supporting long-term monitoring outcomes.

Hollows &
Habitat

Tree hollows are among the most valuable habitat features found in Australian landscapes.

More than 300 native species rely on hollows for nesting, breeding, shelter and protection, including birds, gliders, possums, microbats and reptiles.

The challenge is that suitable hollows can take well over a century to develop naturally, while many of the large old trees that provide them are declining through land clearing, drought, fire and natural ageing.

NativeHabitat.Co helps address this habitat shortage through species-specific hollow creation and habitat enhancement. Using advanced Australian-designed hollow creation technology together with GPS habitat mapping, we deliver precise, data-driven habitat solutions that support wildlife today while contributing to healthier, more resilient landscapes into the future.

Habitat where it’s needed.

Every landscape has different habitat needs. NativeHabitat.Co works on site to identify practical opportunities for supporting native wildlife, from hollow creation and nest box installation to habitat recording and long-term monitoring.

By understanding the existing trees, surrounding vegetation, target species and local conditions, we create habitat solutions that are specific to place rather than generic additions. This helps ensure each hollow or habitat feature is positioned, designed and recorded with purpose, supporting native wildlife where shelter and breeding opportunities are most needed.

NativeHabitat.Co was established from a simple belief: healthy landscapes need healthy habitat.

O U R S T O R Y

Across regional Victoria, many native species are facing increasing pressure as natural hollows and other critical habitat features disappear faster than they can be replaced. While protecting existing habitat remains essential, practical solutions are also needed to support wildlife today.

Combining arborilcultural capability, specialised hollow creation technology and ecological understanding, NativeHabitat.Co was established to deliver practical habitat solutions for regional Victoria.

Based in Central Victoria and servicing surrounding regions, we work with landholders, councils and community organisations to deliver durable, site-appropriate habitat solutions that provide immediate benefit while contributing to the long-term health of local ecosystems.

Our focus is straightforward: creating functional habitat where it is needed most, helping native wildlife find shelter, breed successfully and remain part of the landscapes we value.

Every project is guided by practicality, respect for the environment and a commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes that endure over time.
